Supporting ICS

Here are a few of the ways you can support our little blue school:

Parent Participation

We are a Parent Participation School and we value, and depend on, parent participation and contributions. The Parent Participation Program is an integral part of the operation of our little blue school. The aim of the program is to create a spirit of community among families and staff as we work together to provide the best education for our students. Active participation provides positive role models for our children while teaching them the value of helping others.

Building Community, Raising Funds

The ICS community raises funds to supplement the excellent academic, sport and cultural programs for our children and to cover many of the operating costs for our school. Our two biggest annual fundraisers are the Walkathon and the very popular Christmas Fair.  Not only do these events raise much needed funds for our little blue school but they help us build a strong and vibrant school community.  We also raise funds throughout the year for our many outreach projects.

Walkathon

During the annual Walkathon our students walk approximately 10 km in support of ICS and two schools we sponsor, one in Vietnam the other in Haiti. The students are sponsored financially by pledges from family, parishioners and friends. Join the ICS Walkathon today!

Christmas Fair

The very popular Old Fashioned Christmas Fair is not just an annual school event, it has also become a favorite Dunbar community event. This event involves the entire school and parish community. The Fair offers Breakfast with Santa, Baking Booth, Crafts Room, Games Room, Toonie Table – and so much more! It is a fantastic community building event which offers many parent participation opportunities from making pancakes, to bussing tables, supervising children’s crafts and games, and baking delicious goodies to name just a few.  Look for volunteer opportunities to be posted a few weeks before the Fair.

Hot Lunch

Our Hot Lunch program is offered weekly and the funds raised contribute to the school’s general operating revenue, and a portion is allocated to the Grade 7 Outdoor Education Program.
